Signal, not noise. On the right channel, at the right moment.
Therapy notifications that surface risk scores, PHQ-8 changes, and missed appointments across four channels.
Mena watches every session, risk score, and appointment, then only pings you when it matters. In-app, email, SMS, and push. You set the rules.

What Mena tells you, the moment it matters
Mena sends notifications for six clinical and operational events: risk indicators, depression (PHQ-8) and anxiety (GAD-7) changes, cognitive distortion patterns, missed appointments, session reminders, and homework prompts.
Clinical signals you can't afford to miss
Risk indicator detected
Suicide or self-harm risk score crosses a threshold. You see it the moment a session transcript is analyzed.
Depression (PHQ-8) or anxiety (GAD-7) score change
A patient's depression (PHQ-8) or anxiety (GAD-7) score moves by 3 points or more between check-ins. Mena flags the delta with trend context.
Cognitive distortion pattern
Catastrophizing, black-and-white thinking, or mind-reading appears in 3 or more sessions. Surfaced as a caseload pattern.
Keep your practice moving
Missed appointment

Appointment reminder (for your patients)
24 hours and 1 hour before each session. Reduces no-shows with zero extra admin on your side.
Homework and check-in reminders (for your patients)
Prompts for between-session assignments and mood check-ins. Better adherence, more data for your sessions.
Four channels. One source of truth.

Built for sensitive data, by design
Notifications touch the most confidential signal in your practice. Here's what happens before a single message leaves Mena.
Explicit opt-in, per channel
Patients and therapists choose which channels they want separately. Every consent is timestamped and revocable from Settings with one click. GDPR Article 7, Recital 32 standard.
No PHI in SMS or push bodies
Messages say 'You have a new clinical alert in Mena', never the score or the patient name. Clinical detail stays inside the authenticated app. Safe for shared phones, lock-screen previews, and carrier logs.
EU data residency
Email, SMS, and push delivery route through EU-based providers. No notification payload crosses the Atlantic. This matches the rest of Mena, where AI and video are self-hosted in EU regions.
Every notification, logged
Channel, timestamp, delivery status, and recipient are written to an immutable audit log. Admins can export the full trail for compliance reviews or subject-access requests.
Mena is compliant with the GDPR and operates under a signed Data Processing Agreement. See the Subprocessors list for our delivery partners.
Shipping alongside SMS and push
These are not speculative. Both features are scoped and building. Subscribe to the changelog to get notified on launch.
Digest mode
Bundle your non-urgent notifications into a single morning email or in-app feed. Cut ping volume by up to 80 percent without missing anything.
Launching with SMS and pushSmart escalation
Crisis alerts that sit unread in-app for 15 minutes automatically escalate to SMS, then push. A risk indicator never waits for a log-in.
